  Ed Sheeran was born in the town and the castle is deemed to be the inspiration behind the song: castle on the hill. Run by English Heritage, there are some very impressive views from the battlelements, which are open to walk around. At the visitor information centre you can learn about the history of the Castle and the surrounding area. The cafe is pleasant and we'll managed, and the on site parking is close by with good facilities. Well worth a visit.
